Q&A’s
Q. Are there any hidden costs?
A. There are no hidden costs, you will be told in your consultation how much it will cost and we will advise you of aftercare products and how much these will cost. If you change your mind on the day and want extra extensions put in then you will be told of the charge.
Q. Do you charge extra to cut and style my extensions after?
A. No. The hair will have to be cut after the extensions have been fitted to finish the overall desired style, all of which is included in the price.
Q. Will hair extensions look natural if not straightened or curled after washing?
A. Yes they will. Our hair extensions are 100% human hair and will look completely natural if you simply wish to wash and leave them.
Q. Can the hair be straightened or curled?
A. Yes the hair can be straightened or curled as they are real hair. However you have to be careful not to put any heat onto the bonds as it could damage the glue.
Q. Can hair extensions be coloured?
A. We recommend you have coloured hair put in rather than attempt to colour it yourself. This is because we cannot be held liable if you decide to put unknown chemicals onto your extensions. We do not recommend colouring or perming the extensions yourself. If you decide you wish to change the colour of your extensions come in and talk to us first.
Q. Do hair extensions require a lot of after care?
A. You do need to look after the hair extensions by using the recommended styling tools and products. All of this will be explained to you at the time of your consultation.
Q. How long do hair extensions last?
A. They can last as long as you want, but you will need to carry out regular maintenance on them. We suggest every 6 – 8 weeks you come back to the salon for a maintenance appointment. Your natural hair will grow and some of your extensions (pre-bonded extensions only) will need replacing. You will need to take care of your extensions to keep your natural hair healthy as well. You should not leave the extensions in any longer than 3 months; otherwise the extensions will damage your natural hair as they become too heavy. It is best to have them taken out at the end of 3 months, have your natural hair cut and then give your natural hair a break for a while before having extensions put back in again.
Q. How long does the application take?
A. Depending on what you would like to have done, flashes of colour could take 10 – 20mins, half a head between 2- 3 hours and a full head 3+ hours. The time it takes depends on aspects such as the thickness of your natural hair, the style you wish to achieve and the length of the extensions put in.
Q. Can the Hair extensions damage your hair?
A. We are fully qualified in applying hair extensions and no damage will occur to your hair during the application process. As long as you follow all of our aftercare advice, use the recommended products and styling tools, and have your extensions removed by us, your real hair should not sustain any damage at all.
Q. How are hair extensions removed?
A. They have to be removed by a professional hair stylist and we recommend you come back to us to have your extensions removed. This is because different glue removers are used for different types of hair and we use remover correct for our hair extensions. The hair must not be pulled out as this will damage it considerably. If you decide to remove the hair extensions yourself, we will not be responsible for any damage to your hair.
Q. What different length does the hair come in?
A. The hair comes in 14 inch, 18 inch and 24 inch length. The hair will be cut and shaped afterwards to achieve the style you require.
Q. Does the hair dry out or tangle?
A. No, the hair does not dry out or tangle. We only use real hair of the finest quality. As long as you look after your extensions at home, as advised by Serenity, your extensions will stay in the same condition they were in when we applied them for you.
