Maintenance

After investing money to have your hair extensions applied you must look after them properly and use the right products and styling tools. If you don’t you may run the risk of damaging not only your extensions but also your own hair as well.
Here at Serenity we recommend a hair maintenance programme that uses the products from L’ANZA. L’ANZA, the leader in quality, professional hair care products, is the first offer revolutionary formulations that heal the hair.  Healing is truly the foundation for beautiful hair and L’ANZA is dedicated to providing products that restore health to all hair types.  L’ANZA’s new generation of healing formulas deliver twice the healing power, combining time-honoured natural ingredients including botanical extracts, keratin amino acids and moisturizers with the most advanced ingredients science offers. We can offer you the full range including shampoos, conditioners and styling products.
We also stress the importance of using the right styling tools. Here at Serenity we sell the correct brushes and combs you need to use when brushing and styling your extensions. To use an incorrect brush can result in your extensions becoming loose or even pull them out. You can still use hair strengtheners and styling tongs but you must not place them on the bonds as this will heat up the glue again and could cause them to fall out.
It is recommended that you do not apply any products to the roots of your hair, especially conditioner. This is because conditioner can lie heavy on the hair and put stress on your extensions. You should only use a conditioner on mid lengths to ends only. Our L’ANZA products are lightweight and are ideal for use on real hair extensions.
You also need to plait your hair before you go to bed. This will help prevent the hair from tangling and ensure it is not unduly pulled while you sleep. Your natural hair will grow so every 6-8 weeks you need to come back to the salon and have any extensions that have grown away from the root replaced (pre-bonded extensions only) or you may simply need the split ends trimmed away from your natural hair. We want you to enjoy your new hair and style and the best way for you to do this is to ensure you look after your extensions correctly and follow our recommendations.
